We have an assortment of 3D Printers at Starforge Foundry. Both Members and Non-Members may use the 3D-Printers. We recommend FDM 3D Printing for most 3D printing projects. If you have small or intricate parts, a staff member may suggest Resin Printing as an alternative

3D Print Requests

Members are allowed to run their own 3D prints but must ask a staff member if a printer is able to be used before proceeding.

Members and non-members can submit a request on the 3D Print Request Form. We will respond back to the email provided with a quote and the estimated delivery time. You may pay for your print through the link provided in the email. See the Pricing section below for details on costs.

We keep the following colors on hand for print requests:

If you would like a different color than what we offer, you may purchase a monthly membership and bring in material to be used. We will not purchase specific colors for your request.

💡 Print Request Limitations

In order to provide a fast, low-cost service to the community, the following basic limitations are in place for print requests:

FDM 3D Printers

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is our recommended 3D Printing technology. It is the fastest, simplest, largest, and most economical 3D Printing process we offer. We cannot print parts bigger than the maximum size of our largest printer and will recommend slicing of the part to make it fit.

⚠️ Note about Part Size

It is not recommended to exceed the build size of our printers. If your part does, 3D printing is often not the best process to meet your needs and staff may suggest other fabrication methods.

The maximum single part size Starforge is able to print is 250x250x250mm.

Resin 3D Printers

Resin Printing is great for small or intricate objects. This printing process is much more difficult and time consuming, hence the increased price. We do not recommend Resin Printing for most projects and will asses the need for the technology on a case-by-case basis.

Resin printing also requires many post processing steps that often add an additional 1-2 hours on top of the print time alone.
